LEARN YOUR MACHINE OR SERGER

Do you have a sewing machine or serger (overlock) but don’t know how to thread it?  Learn to thread your machine, what the stitches are for and about needles and thread.  Any make of sewing machine or serger.  Call Connie at the store for an appointment for individual lesson.  FEE:  $10 per hour session (no charge if machine purchased here.)


EMBROIDERY CLUB

Club meetings are held the third Saturday of each month.  Join us for a morning of fun and sharing a new project every month.  Pat Norris and Joann Hughes will email to you the month’s project at the beginning of each month.  PLEASE LET THEM KNOW IF YOU WILL BE ATTENDING.

BASIC COMPUTER CLUB

Learn more about your computer to help you fully utilize your Viking software.  Club meetings are held the third Saturday of each month.

Meets: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Fee: $10 per session

ADVANCED COMPUTER CLASS

Learn to create and edit graphic images to enhance all your projects.  Great ideas and techniques to use with digitizing software, making scrapbook pages and creating unique images for printing on fabric for use in your projects.   Classes meet the fourth Wednesday of each month -  9:30am to noon

SOFTWARE CLUB – 4D SOFTWARE

It’s time to get together, learn and share everyone’s knowledge.   Club meetings are held the second Saturday of each month.

SOS MEMBERS ONLY CLUB 

“Block of the Month” projects are great ways to learn your Husqvarna Viking Embroidery Software.  Each month we will learn new skills and work with the different modules of the software.  The outcome will be beautiful blocks that can be used in a quilt, home dec project, or garments.

GARMENT SEWING FOR BEGINNERS

The workbook gives the beginning sewer an opportunity to put into practice many garment sewing techniques.  Packet includes fabrics, interfacing and trims to sew sample garment details.

QUILTING CLASSES



INTRODUCTION TO QUILT MAKING, ROTARY CUTTING, BASIC BINDINGS



This one session, lecture/demo class will give you the basics of rotary cutting and machine piecing.  Brink rotary cutter, mat, acrylic ruler and ½ yard of scrap fabric.  Binding is your last step in finishing your quilt.  You will learn how to cut and attach a basic binding, turn corners and important tricks to make binding your quilt fast and easy.  Bring sewing machine, basic sewing supplies and ½ yd. of 2 scrap fabrics.

MACHINE QUILTING


Learn to use the walking foot and the darning foot and how to bind your quilt in finishing your quilt top.  Pick up supply list at the store.

PICK YOUR CHOICE OF ONE OF THE FOLLOWING QUILTS


“MY FIRST QUILT” LOG CABIN – This is the class for beginners.  Using the techniques of rotary cutting and strip piecing in this quick and easy quilt.  (Does not include materials.  Pick up supply list at the store.)


START TO FINISH NO FAIL BABY QUILT – If you have never made a quilt, this is the class for you.  A great no-fail quilt.  May be enlarged for a larger quilt.  Pick up supply list at the store.


YELLOW BRICK ROAD – A very fast quilt to make.  It uses 12 fat quarters (18” x 22”) in coordinating colors of student’s choice.  Patter is included in fee – does not include materials.  Pick up supply list at the store.


TURNING TWENTY – Use your stash of fat quarters (18”x22”), You only need 20 fat quarters.  You can cut this quilt (using a rotary cutter) in less than 30 minutes and you can finish sewing this quilt in 3 hours!


TURNING TWENTY AGAIN – This is an improved version on “Turning Twenty” pattern.  It uses the same amount of fabric but produces more complex and dazzling designs.


TAKE 5 – This very easy quilt.  Take 5 minutes to choose 5 fabrics.  Construct one block in 5 various fabric layouts and in 5 hours you will have a completed quilt top.

SUMMER CLASSES FOR KIDS 


BEGINNING SEWING FOR KIDS – 1ST AND 2ND Grades


Learn how to thread a needle, use scissors correctly, how to pin fabric.  We will make several projects using the techniques of hand sewing.  Our first step in learning to sew.

BEGINNING MACHINE SEWING FOR ‘ME & MOM” – 3rd grade and above  - Learn to use your sewing machine and make several projects.

BEGINNING QUILTING FOR KIDS – 4th grade and above  - Learn to make a simple quilt to use while you read, watch TV or take a nap.

INTERMEDIATE QUILTING FOR KIDS – 5th grade and above – This class is open only for kids who took “Beginning Quilting for Kids”.  Different pattern from Beginning Quilting.
